Re-imagined and re-recorded, Blancmange’s landmark 1982 debut, Happy Families is to be performed in full during a November 2013 tour, with the new album available exclusively at tour venues.

From their origins making experimental synth wave, to the chart-topping yet cool and credible hits, Blancmange were at the very heart of 1980s club culture. They created a unique sound that married electronic and eastern influences with a distinct dance floor sensibility.

Their tour will see Blancmange perform Happy Families on stage in its entirety but with a 21st century spin, taking a fresh look at an album that influenced so many. Rechristened Happy Families too…, the album offers a new experience.

Neil has said “The intention is to do something a bit like Roxy Music did with Brian Eno, processing sounds live during a performance. It might be less predictable, it might even be a bit chaotic! But I like the excitement of that, the chance element – the feeling I’m moving forward creatively.”

The tour begins on 3rd November in Clitheroe, Lancashire, and finishes in London and Cardiff. Tickets are on sale now from all major outlets priced between £16 and £22.50.
