Erasure have announced a new album, Snow Globe, to be released on 11th November. The album is a collection of original compositions and seasonal classics, and follows their previous 2011 album, Tomorrow’s World.

Their first single from the album is one that may be recognised after Steeleye Span’s version in the early 70s. ‘Gaudete’ is Erasure’s take on the traditional Latin carol.

“I haven’t actually heard him sing better,” says Vince of Andy. Andy says, “I found my inner choirboy again. I thought I’d lost him but he was there all along.”

The award-winning songwriting duo of Vince Clarke and Andy Bell have unleashed influential and chart-topping pop anthems from the 80s to today. Now, Erasure have taken a minimal approach for this recording, rather than approaching Christmas with the bells and whistles so often heard. Vince says “We managed to strip everything back to bare essentials. ‘White Christmas’ almost has a drone all the way through it. I love that.”

Snow Globe is out on 11 November 2013.
