In case you haven’t heard it yet, Jimmy Somerville has released a new version of Smalltown Boy, to celebrate the single’s 30th anniversary. We were the first to break the news on our Facebook page, but then Smalltown Boy was voted our No. 1 synthop single back in Issue Ten.

Jimmy calls this rendition a ‘Reprise Version’ and he recorded it at London’s RAK Studios, which we profile in the current edition in So Much To Answer For. There’s a video too, but nothing else planned on the Bronski front unfortunately. “Jimmy however will be releasing more music this year,” his spokesperson tells us, “from a forthcoming new studio album…”
