Howard Jones first burst upon the contemporary music scene in 1983 with his electric pop anthem and pioneering synthesisers. He took the mid to late eighties by storm with his high energy gigs and albums ‘Human’s Lib’ and ‘Dream into Action’. It was in 2011 that he first joined Absolute 80s and to gained great praise for his weekly radio series, ‘Howard Jones Electronic 80s’.
“It is a great pleasure to be joining my friends at Absolute 80s again to present another series of shows,” says Howard. “I’m really looking forward to sharing my stories and experiences with the listeners and playing some great music.”
A host of 80s stars will join Howard on the roster at Absolute 80s in the coming months, including Owen Paul, Kim Wilde and Deacon Blue. The Absolute 80s radio series dovetails Jones’ 30th Anniversary concerts at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire (November 29th) and Birmingham O2 Academy (November 30th). The 30th Anniversary celebrates the release of Howard’s debut top ten single “New Song”.
