Scarlet Soho are to release an as yet unnamed third album later this year. Prior to this release, they have announced an album that will introduce audiences to their musical career to date in the form of Hit the Floor – Favourites and Rarities, available 25th October on US label A Different Drum.

The compilation features tracks from Divisions of Decency (Human Recordings 2004) and Warpaint (Major Records 2009), alongside six previously unreleased tracks.

The UK release is sold with an accompanying 16 page visual history of the band, dating from 1999 to 2013. The album is likely to become a collectors item with a limited 300 copies available.

Andy Malt of CMU Daily says, “It may not be such an unusual sight now, with many acts happily straddling the worlds of pop and indie, but when I first met Scarlet Soho, no one else was doing what they were doing. At a time when going to a gig always meant watching three near identical guitar bands, Scarlet Soho shunned that tired idea of what a band should be, got in a van with some synths and a drum machine and played pop music to those same audiences… Influenced as much by Faith No More as they are by The Human League… Scarlet Soho have always known how to mash genres to create perfect pop. And, like those bands, they stamp their own clear sound and personality on everything they do… Just as they pre-empted the resurgence of intelligent pop, they are pre-empting its next move as we speak.”
