Rewind Up North
By admin | September 10, 2014
We’ve just returned from the last Rewind of the year and the first Rewind North, which took place at Capesthorne Hall in Cheshire the weekend before last. The highlights?
Billy Ocean closed day one, but the real climax came just before with a short but suitably theatrical set from Marc Almond. Other highlights from the Saturday night included Nick Heyward (& Son) reviving forgotten funk classic, Warning Sign and Jimmy Somerville performing a mini Best Of. The biggest cheers were won by Go West and their double-whammy of We Close Our Eyes and a cover of Kings of Leon’s Sex on Fire.
Day two was noticeably more A-List with sets from Holly Johnson, Level 42, Tony Hadley, and Midge Ure. The highest of the highlights being China Crisis’ perfectly pitched opening session on Sunday afternoon and Heaven 17’s live rendition of Brothers in Rhythm’s Nineties remix of Temptation.
Our official photographer Marc Pinder didn’t sit still for more than five minutes and some of the best of his work is here, in our Rewind North gallery on Facebook.
