Not Such a Bad Day For Carmel
By admin | October 8, 2014
Bad Day hitmakers Carmel are set to return with their first new music in nearly 20 years.
Singer Carmel McCourt fronts a new Carmel line-up featuring pianist Christian Van Fields and drummer Simon Moore for new single Second Wife Blues/Sad Situation, out on October 13. They play a one-off gig on October 11 at London Albany, while McCourt will also appear as part of the support band, vocal harmony quartet The Kray Brothers. Tickets are £16.
Carmel enjoyed hits such as Bad Day, More More More and the half-million selling Sally and worked with producers including Brian Eno and Mike Thorne before splitting after 1995’s sixth album, World’s Gone Crazy.
Original bassist Jim Parris is also helping to write new music for the band.
