Compilation lover Andrew Spokes is raising money for Macmillan Cancer Research by listening to the first 14 ‘Now! That’s What I Call Music’ compilations without stopping for 28 hours.

Spokes will be undergoing his feat on March 19-20 after losing a friend to cancer last year. He told Classic Pop: “My friend loved cheesy pop, so this seemed the right thing to do.”

He has created a blog at where he will be posting videos of each of the 450 songs across the 14 compilations for people to post their comments. He also intends to tweet via @NoaxNOW during his marathon.

“I’ll be listening to each Now! In order and without sleep,” said Spokes. “And I won’t be cheating by listening to the shorter versions of Now! 8 and 9 that are available.”
