Simon & Garfunkel

Spandau Ballet have unveiled a never-before-heard recording of The Boxer by Simon & Garfunkel.

In September 1990, the band gathered at Master Rock recording studios in Kilburn, London to record a new track with movie composer and arranger Michael Kamen for a planned Greatest Hits album. The song they chose was Simon & Garfunkel’s The Boxer, from the duo’s Bridge Over Troubled Water LP.

The fruits of that recording session with Kamen (best known for his work on Die Hard, Lethal Weapon, Robin Hood Prince Of Thieves, Licence To Kill, Highlander and The Krays) has never been heard until today.

The track is available to stream now and will be available on their forthcoming 3CD double vinyl 40 Years: The Greatest Hits album, out 27 November.
