Louise reveals details of fifth studio album ‘Confessions’

Louise reveals details of fifth studio album, Confessions, out in May.

The new album sees her hit the dance floor with a confident collection of euphoric pop dance anthems. Working with a variety of A list collaborators, the project includes Jon Shave (Charli XCX), Anya Jones (Benjamin Ingrosso, Kylie), Karen Poole (Becky Hill), Tre Jean-Marie (Perrie, Mabel), MNEK (Flo, Madonna), Miranda Cooper (Girls Aloud) and Hannah Robinson (Annie).

Louise says: “This album just happened. It had that momentum and I’ve worked with such great people. I’d have a pinch-me moment some days when I was in the studio, working with such great songwriters and producers, it’s been a dream team.

“The album is quite personal and I didn’t hold back. It’s something I’m not known for as I can be quite guarded. But here, I’ve brought the sassy part of Louise. It’s a good time for women to be coming out with music.”

The announcement follows the release of her first single from the album, Confession, last week. With lyrical themes about the first flashes of passion, Confession mixes an electronic bass and shimmering synths with a sultry and smooth melody.

As a solo artist Louise has had 18 Top 20 singles, six with Eternal and 12 solo. Her debut solo album Naked sold over 1 million copies and overall she has sold over 15 million records worldwide and 5 million records in the UK.

Louise solidified her return to music in 2019 and 2020 with a stream of critically acclaimed singles including Stretch and Lead Me On, and the release of her first album in 16 years Heavy Love. In 2023 she released her Greatest Hits album, a record that celebrated an incredible 30 years of Louise releasing music, with 30 tracks spanning from 1993 to 2023.
