“You thought it was gonna be then… then we decided it wasn’t… and now I've decided it's now” - Robbie Williams
Robbie Williams has surprise released his brand new album BRITPOP.
Robbie’s 13th studio album, features the singles Rocket, Spies, Human, Pretty Face and All My Life, is out now on Columbia Records.
The singer says: “You thought it was gonna be then… then we decided it wasn’t… and now I’ve decided it’s now. Ladies and Gentlemen: BRITPOP – the album.”
Artists who appear on the album include Coldplay’s Chris Martin, Gaz Coombes (Supergrass), Black Sabbath legend Tony Iommi, Mexican pop duo Jesse & Joy, and Gary Barlow. The album is Robbie’s best received in years and the album cover was projected onto various famous London landmarks in the early hours of the morning to celebrate the surprise release.

Upbeat & Anthemic
On BRITPOP Robbie previously said: “I set out to create the album that I wanted to write and release after I left Take That in 1995. It was the peak of Britpop and a golden age for British Music. I’ve worked with some of my heroes on this album; it’s raw, there are more guitars and it’s an album that’s even more upbeat and anthemic than usual. There’s some ‘Brit’ in there and there’s certainly some ‘pop’ too – I’m immensely proud of this as a body of work and I’m excited for fans to hear this album.”
Robbie took to the stage last summer for the BRITPOP stadium tour, with the global icon performing across the UK, Ireland and Europe to over 250,000 people in the UK alone and 1.2 million people across the whole tour.
Next month Robbie will perform a special run of shows at intimate venues in Glasgow, Liverpool, London and Wolverhampton as part of the Long 90’s Tour in celebration of the new record. At these sold out shows he will play his debut album, Life Thru A Lens, and his most recent, BRITPOP, in full.
