Bonnie Tyler’s music is already OTT – power balladry at its most epic and bombastic – so what better than a CD full of extensions and extrapolations? Remixes And Rarities collects music from her whole career, from her earliest recordings for RCA in the late-70s to her sojourn with Hansa in the early-90s.

But it’s not all overloaded takes on classic hits such as Total Eclipse Of The Heart and Holding Out For A Hero; there are also neglected tracks such as Matter Of The Heart from the soundtrack to the 1986 film The Wraith and The Desert Is In Your Heart, a duet with Greek singer Sofia Arvaniti which reached No.1 in Greece back in 1992. Some songs – Sayonara Tokyo, her final single for RCA, which was only ever released in Japan in 1981 – makes its CD debut here.
