Shining Lights

Northern Irish rockers Ash, featuring Tim Wheeler (vocals, guitar), Mark Hamilton (bass) and Rick McMurray (drums), return to Shiiine On to top the bill on Friday 14 November. Known for their energetic punk-pop sound, Ash rose to prominence in the mid-90s following their debut album 1977, which featured the hit singles Kung Fu, Girl From Mars, Angel Interceptor, Goldfinger and Oh Yeah.

Over the decades, Ash has maintained a loyal fanbase and continued evolving their sound while staying true to their high-energy roots – delivering timeless tunes such as A Life Less Ordinary, Shining Light, Burn Baby Burn, Candy and There’s A Star.

Noise Pop

The Jesus & Mary Chain make their Shiiine On debut, headlining the Saturday night. Formed in East Kilbride in 1983 by brothers Jim and William Reid, TJ&MC’s groundbreaking fusion of noise and melody helped pioneer the shoegaze scene. Their highly influential debut album Psychocandy (1985), which combines feedback-drenched guitars with melancholic pop melodies, ranked No.268 on Rolling Stone magazine’s The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time list.

Their sound, often described as abrasive yet beautiful, drew on influences from The Velvet Underground and The Stooges. Known for hits like Some Candy Talking, April Skies, Happy When It Rains, Reverence and Far Gone And Out, the band carved out a legacy as one of the most innovative and influential acts of the post-punk era.

Celebrating the 30th anniversary of their landmark debut LP, All Change, the band, fronted by John Power, are in the best position they’ve been in for decades. Last year’s Love Is The Call earned a wave of critical acclaim and marked the band’s highest chart position in 25 years.

Fans can expect to hear classics like Alright, Finetime, Sandstorm, and Walkaway during their hit-packed set.
