The Cure have announced a pair of Christmas gigs at Hammersmith Apollo.
The shows on December 21-22 mark the 30th anniversary of the band playing three gigs at the same venue – the support band from those May 1984 concerts, And Also The Trees, will again support The Cure at the new dates.

Tickets go on sale at 8am on Friday from: www.eventim.co.uk or www.bookingsdirect.com
Phone sales are from 08442 494300 or 08445 814940.

The Cure’s last UK shows were in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust at London Royal Albert Hall in March, when they played identical three-and-a-half hour, 45-song sets. According to the band’s Facebook page, these new gigs will see them play relatively brief two-and-a-half hour shows.

A statement said: “The band will play songs drawn from their entire 37-year catalogue including deep cuts, pop songs, fan favourites and surprises galore.”

There is no further news on the band’s new album 4.14 Scream, which Robert Smith told Rolling Stone in April would be released. It comprises songs recorded at the same time as their most recent album, 2008’s 4.13 Dream.
