Hot off the success of their recent single Run, Australian electronic duo Flight Facilities return with a new rework of Fine Young Cannibals’ classic She Drives Me Crazy.

Flight Facilities commented, “It’s not often you get access to stems for certified classics. Anyone could spot that guitar and snare out of a police lineup. It was the soundtrack to our childhoods, and a reliable hit in our electro mashup days. After years of bootlegging tracks for sets and mixes, it was an honour to make this one official.”

Modern Electro-Pop

The rework merges the unmistakable pop flair of the 1989 original with the sleek sophistication of Flight Facilities’ deep house sound. Its mammoth collision of Paisley Park soul, rock riffs, and a colossal trademark snare drum all still present, but now reshaped via a prism of modern electro-pop. This version preserves the key rhythmic elements and Roland Gift’s distinctive vocal delivery that made the original a timeless favourite, while layering in lush synth textures, warm basslines and refined house rhythms.

She Drives Me Crazy was the lead single and opening track of Fine Young Cannibals’ classic album The Raw & The Cooked, which elevated them to global success. The single was not only a Top 5 hit in the UK but also reached No.1 in the US, Australia, Austria, Canada, New Zealand and Spain.

The Raw & The Cooked went on to generate five UK Top 40 singles, leading to five million global album sales.  Their acclaim was led by two BRIT Awards, an Ivor Novello, and three Grammy Award nominations.

Four decades on, the band’s influence continues to resonate. Their songs feature prominently in film (Johnny Come Home in Andrew Haigh’s award-winning All of Us Strangers) and television (She Drives Me Crazy in Season 4 of The Bear), while the track also headlines Chanel’s 2025 handbag campaign starring Dua Lipa and Jennie of BLACKPINK.
