The band’s 10th studio LP sees brothers Chris and Rich Robinson return to their roots
The Black Crowes have announced details of their highly anticipated new studio album A Pound Of Feathers.
Set for release on 13 March via Silver Arrow Records, A Pound Of Feathers follows the rocker’s 2024 critically acclaimed Happiness Bastards and pushes The Crowes’ blend of blues, soul and rock into electrifying new terrain.
“We made this record in eight to 10 days,” says singer Chris Robinson. “Bringing the high and inspiration from Happiness Bastards into this album, it was a natural progression. We experimented more, we wrote on instinct and how we were feeling in the moment. Rich brought a spontaneity to the record that I can’t describe, but it’s the best shit he’s ever done.”
Guitarist Rich Robinson continues, “This album feels transformative to us. Going back to our roots, we felt that spark in the studio and how we work together. Lighting a fire that hits harder, more jagged but is still true to our musical essence.”
The announcement comes with the release of spiked opener Profane Prophecy. Listen below:
Brothers In Arms
Founded by brothers Chris and Rich Robinson, The Black Crowes charted their own course, taking flight in 1990 with the 5x-Platinum Shake Your Money Maker. Featuring the hit singles Hard To Handle, She Talks To Angels, Jealous Again and Twice As Hard, the LP was a ballsy debut.
Their path twisted and turned from seminal records a la the 2x-Platinum Billboard No.1 LP The Southern Harmony And Musical Companion and Gold-certified follow-up Amorica to a once-in-a-lifetime jaunt with Jimmy Page and accompanying Gold-certified live record: Live at the Greek.
With a career spanning four decades, the band’s upcoming 10th studio album stands as a towering testament to their enduring artistic fire and significance in rock and roll.
Recorded in Nashville with Grammy-winning producer Jay Joyce, A Pound Of Feathers showcases a fearless band operating at the height of their powers.
