Ultravox to release deluxe boxset of Rage In Eden

Following the success of 2020’s deluxe reissue of Vienna, on 30 September Chrysalis Records will release a boxset of Utravox’s second album with Midge Ure, Rage In Eden.
Originally released in October 1981, as with the band’s previous two albums, Rage In Eden was produced by Conny Plank (Kraftwerk, Can, Neu!) at his studio in Cologne.
After Vienna was an international hit single and the subsequent success of the album of the same name, the pressure was on for Ultravox to deliver a dynamic, popular follow up. Seizing the opportunity this achievement afforded them, the band decided to enter the studio with nothing prepared, challenging themselves to take advantage of the studio as an instrument as much as possible.

The Rage In Eden six-disc boxset contains 52 tracks, with 34 previously unreleased recordings. CD’s 1 to 5 contain the original 1981 album production master, a new stereo mix by Steven Wilson, A-sides, B-sides and live tracks along with previously unreleased cassette rehearsals/ Work In Progress versions, and a newly-mixed previously unreleased concert recorded at Hammersmith Odeon in October 1981. The DVD (Audio Only) contains a new 5.1 Surround Sound Mix of the Album/B-sides by Steven Wilson, along with 24/96 Hi-Res audio of the new mixes and the original 1981 Master/B-sides.
The 2LP Vinyl contains the original album master cut at half-speed, along with a bonus disc of single versions and B-sides.
A limited edition 4LP clear vinyl will also be available. It contains the original album master, single versions and B-sides, along with the full Hammersmith 1981 concert.
It will also be available as a D2C Picture of the original album master.
