Sparks Begin The UK Leg of ‘The Revenge Of Two Hands, One Mouth’ Tour
By Classic Pop | November 25, 2013
Sparks began their ‘Two Hands One Mouth’ European tour in October 2012, touring for the very first time as a duo. American brothers Ron (two hands, keyboards) and Russell Mael’s (one mouth, vocals) bold decision to perform without band and computers seems to have paid off – the feedback for 2012 run of shows has been exceptional.
With this newly distilled sound Sparks delivered their extensive catalogue in ‘a show of impact, energy and aggression’. The tour has since journeyed the US to similar fanfare. There a few shows in the UK leg including shows in Glasgow, Bristol and London (see dates below).
Here’s their preview video of the tour.
The duo have issued the following statement:
“Having been so moved by the overwhelming reaction and support throughout Europe to our “Two Hands One Mouth” tour last October, we have decided to do one more go-round in the duo format, “The Revenge of Two Hands One Mouth”. For those who saw the tour in its first incarnation, we promise to keep the intensity up, the two-hands, one-mouthiness up, the no-computeriness up, and also perform a bunch of tunes not played on the original tour.
For all virgins, please enjoy for the first time our two hands and one mouth.”
The duo will now return to the stage with a new show ‘The Revenge Of Two Hands One Mouth’ that will feature many songs and Sparksian delights not performed on the previous tour. As Sparks will be focusing on their next studio project in 2014, this autumn tour is expected to be the last opportunity to witness the band perform in this format.
