Jam bookFollowing the publication last year of their hugely successful book on The Style Council, Soul Deep (which Paul Weller called “probably the best book on The Style Council in the world… a lovely piece of work!), Soul Deep Productions are proud to announce a 40th anniversary edition of Derek D’Souza’s Jam book, In The Crowd, which has been out of print for almost 10 years.

Photographer Derek D’Souza shot The Jam at the height of their fame, back in August 1981. What makes this remarkable was that he was given the chance by the band even though he had no real photographic experience.

Fast forward to 2013 and D’Souza released In The Crowd, featuring images of the famous Chiswick Park session alongside his photos of the Woking three-piece taken live from the audience.

In The Crowd has been long out of print and with the discovery of new and unseen photos of the band, the team behind Soul Deep: Adventures With The Style Council have teamed up with Derek to produce a beautiful limited high-quality 40th edition hardback book for release in 2022. Writer, DJ and Acid Jazz’s Eddie Piller has provided the foreword.

In The Crowd will be available in three editions:
